Jeep Safari in Sonanadi

Sonanadi tourism zone is located in Sonanadi Wildlife sanctuary which is a part of Corbett National Park.

Situated in the north of the Sonanadi River, the Sonanadi range was developed as a natural habitat of wildlife animals and birds and is blessed with the mesmerizing beauty of flora and fauna.

Jeep safari facility is provided here to enjoy the wildlife, birds, and exotic flora in a natural habitat.

Visitors can take the wildlife Jeep Safari in Sonanadi range to observe the wildlife in their natural habitat and enjoy the enchanting beauty of greenery and nature at its best.

This zone is the favourite place for Asiatic Elephant along with the Royal Bengal Tiger, cheetal (axis-axis), sambhar, leopard and reptiles.

This is the only zone in Jim Corbett National Park where you are allowed to walk on foot.

Jeep Safari in the Sonanadi zone is operational for visitors from 15th October to 15th June and is closed during monsoon season due to bad road and weather conditions.

The jeep safaris are operated during the day in the Sonanadi zone and the permit for day visits can be obtained from the visitor reception centre located at Kotdwar.

There are only 15 permits for jeep safaris allowed in each of the two shifts in the morning and evening.

How to book Online for Jeep Safari in Sonanadi?

Visitors are advised to get a pre-booking entry ticket for the Jeep safari in the Sonanadi Tourism Zone.

You can also pre-book entry tickets from the Ramnagar office.

The booking for day visits can be done using the government’s official web portal of Corbett National Reserve.

Visitors are required to get a permit for the Sonanadi Jungle safari by filling Online Safari Booking form available at www.OnlineCorbettBooking.com along with their photo id proof (driving license/voter id/pan card) and complete details of the person (gender, full name, birth date etc) and then send the booking request.

You are required to carry the booking id when entering the Sonanadi eco-tourism zone.

How to reach?

Tourists can seek enjoyment of wildlife safari through jeep safari in the Sonanadi eco-tourism zone.

The entry gate for Sonanadi is from the Sonanadi gate, Vatansava gate and the Kalagarh gate.

Each of these entry gates to the Sonanadi zone is well-connected by road and train.

The nearest stations are Kotdwar and Lansdowne and the nearest airport is Jollygrant airport, Dehradun.

Jeep Safari in Sonanadi Price

There are three safari zones in the Sonanadi eco-tourism range namely, Pakhro, Vatanvasa, and Kolhu zone. The Jeep safari cost including the Entry permit post of INR 950 (Indian national) and INR 3300 (foreigners) is as given below:

INR 4,000 (up to 1 to 4 persons)
INR 4,500 (up to 5 to 7 persons)

Jeep Safari in Sonanadi Timings

The Sonanadi Safari zone of the Corbett remains open for visitors from 15th October to 15th June.

This range however remains closed for night halts and Day Visit from 16th June to 14th October(due to Monsoon Season).

Safari timings to Sonanadi safari zone are different in the winters and summer months.

Day Jeep safari timings of the Sonanadi Zone are provided as below:

Winter Safaris Timings:
Morning safari Entry- 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Evening Safari Entry- 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM

Summer Safaris Timings:
Morning Safari Entry- 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM
Evening Safari Entry- 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM
