How to reach Jim Corbett from Delhi?

Jim Corbett national park is the oldest national park in Asia which also makes it one of the most famous parks in Asia. Jim Corbett National Park was the first Tiger Reserve under the project in India.

Also, it is an ideal home for many majestic animals like the Royal Bengal Tiger, Asiatic Elephant, and an extraordinary variety of many other wild animals and reptiles.

Being rich in flora and fauna offers an outstanding view of the Himalayas amidst the dense deciduous forests.

It is the prime wildlife destination for wildlife loving as well as nature-loving tourists from all over the world.

The park is located in Ramnagar, a city in the Uttarakhand state of India. The total distance of Jim Corbett from Delhi is around 260 km.

Being in the proximity of the National Capital City of India, the park is easily accessible through the Railway and Roadway routes.

How to reach Jim Corbett by Roadways?

You can travel to the Jim Corbett National Park through the following road route.

Delhi →Ghaziabad: Roads condition good. You’ll get some traffic during peak hours till Akshardham.

Ghaziabad to Hapur → There is a new Ghaziabad flyover opened, a 10km stretch, which you will enjoy.

Hapur → Moradabad: Once you reach the Hapur bypass, you will get extremely narrow roads, not too much congestion though, owing to new highways being constructed.

If you are going to Moradabad, you can still digest this, however, if you are coming from Moradabad, roads are narrower and extremely congested. It will take 2 hours to cross a 5 km stretch.

Moradabad → Rampur: Road’s condition is not too good. Lots of patches with some traffic. Highways are still under construction. To conclude, bad road conditions do not travel at night.

Rampur → Kashipur: Roads with more patches than earlier ones. No congestion though. To conclude, bad road conditions do not travel at night on these roads.

Kashipur → Jim Corbett: Roads in good condition. You will enjoy the view as well.

If you plan to travel by road, you should travel in the early morning to avoid as much traffic as you could.

How to reach Jim Corbett via Railway Route

The nearest railway station from Corbett is Ramnagar which is around 12 km from the park and the station is directly connected to the railway stations in Delhi.

A direct train named Ranikhet Express runs from Delhi to Ramnagar which is the best train to reach Corbett from Delhi.

You can catch the Ranikhet express at 10:50 pm at Delhi to reach Ramnagar at 04:35 am the next day, and again return by catching the same train at Ramnagar at 09:05 pm to reach Delhi at 05:00 am the next day.

The train operates daily. However, Ramnagar station is the best option to reach Corbett but alternatively, you can also arrive at the Kathgodam station and visit Ramnagar by taxi or cab which will take around 3 and a half hours by road.

The Roadway is the best option to commute from Delhi to Corbett as the road trip has its allure, especially, in the pleasant weather.

You can either travel in your private vehicle or take the car/ tempo traveller/ Bus service which is easily available from Delhi.
